1] Adebayo Salami is an indigen of Kwara state
2] The multi-talented filmmaker, movie producer and director was born on 9 May 1953 in Lagos State where he had both primary and secondary education.
3] He featured in the first Yoruba film, Ajani Ogun, in which the late Adeyemi Afolayan, the father of Kunle Afolayan and Gabriel Afolayan, plays the lead role.
4] Adebayo Salami featured in the popular Nigerian comedy series Comedy half hour with the stage name Oga Bello and that brought about his permanent stage name.
5] Since 1985 [over 3 decades], he has produced, directed and featured in several Yoruba movies.
6] He was a pioneer member of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners, and also served as president of the association.
7] He was elected Senator for the Osun Central constituency of Osun State, Nigeria at the start of the Nigerian Fourth Republic, running on the Alliance for Democracy (AD) platform. He took office on 29 May 1999. After taking his seat in the Senate in June 1999, he was appointed to committees on Public Accounts, Labor (vice-chairman), Power & Steel and Water Resources.
